Integrate Runscope Radar with 1000+ other services with Zapier

By John Sheehan on .

One of the most popular features of Runscope Radar is receiving notifications for completed test runs, especially those that fail. Everyone likes to receive notifications in a different way. Some want SMS, others want push notifications and teams like using group chat services like HipChat and Campfire. Building out support for all of these services would be a lot of work. Thankfully, there's Zapier.

Zapier is an automation tool that allows you to connect the services you use to each other. With the new Runscope app on Zapier, you can connect your Runscope account with over 250 other services including Jira, BitBucket, Asana, Trello, HipChat, Campfire and more.

Handling Test Results

Two of the most common behaviors you want to take on test results (especially failing tests) are sending notifications and creating a ticket to discuss and track the issue. Here are some example zaps for accomplishing these tasks with the Runscope 'New Completed Radar Test Run' trigger.

Create Follow Up Task when an API Test Fails

Send a Push Notification or Chat Message for Test Results

Using Runscope Radar's scheduled tests for ongoing monitoring, your API tests may be running as often as every minute. When something goes wrong, you need to know right away.

Triggering Radar Test Runs with the Zapier Webhook App

In addition to reacting to completed test runs, you can also trigger a new test run by combining a test's Trigger URL with the Zapier Webhooks app. For a head start, here's a link to the GitHub, BitBucket, and GitLab integrations.

This is just the start of what we hope is a broad set of Zapier triggers and actions to provide you with coverage for the most possible services. If there's a specific trigger or action you'd like to see added, or if you have any issues or questions about using Runscope with Zapier, contact our support team any time.
